South Korea has apparently moved its Patriot missile defense battery from North Gyeongsang Province to an installation near Mt. Bukak, just behind the Blue House in Seoul. Experts say the battery is likely equipped with PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles designed to intercept incoming enemy aircraft and intercontinental missiles altitudes of up to 40km. The South Korean military has pushed to transfer the Patriot battery to Seoul since 2017, when the US’ THAAD anti-missile system was deployed to Seongju, North Gyeongsang Province. The photo shows an F-18E Super Hornet landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Red Sea on Jan. 10.
